Job Title:  Senior Relationship Officer – Investment Clubs

Job Summary: Developing and maintaining a pro-active customer advisory relationship management that includes effective consultative selling and structuring of Investment solutions for potential or existing customers in line with the set targets, service standards and strategic objectives of the Bank.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Selling

  • Drive and monitor the growth of Investment Club portfolio as per set targets.
  • Develop a standard value proposition for the Investment Club in line with customer business needs.
  • Identify and onboard business partners to support growth of the investment club portfolio to enhance customer value proposition.
  • Actively market and give direction to branches on the potential pipelines.
  • Maintain an updated database for potential customers and prepare periodic business activity reports to management i.e. Weekly, Monthly and annual.

Strategy

  • Participate in the design and formulation of the Investment club strategy.
  • Define and implement strategy to acquire, grow and retain portfolio of customers.

Customer Relationship Management 

  • Ensure provision of high quality and timely service to clients by attending to client requests and maintaining direct interface with clients.
  • Conduct periodic visits to achieve understanding of customers’ business needs intended to build a loyal customer base, in coordination with the branches
  • Manage and grow an assigned portfolio of clients, promote SME products and services and identify business development opportunities to grow market share.
  • Manage assigned portfolio and ensure that the different processes are in line with the bank standards of quality and profitability.
  • Provide advisory and other financial services to customers.

Client Monitoring

  • Monitor the performance of the client’s accounts (financial performance etc) on a regular basis and identify deviations and take corrective actions to meet set objectives and increase profitability.

Risk, Control and Compliance

  • Ensure compliance to law and regulations.
  • Conduct Know Your Customer (KYC) as per defined procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Keep proper records in terms of local financial legislation and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilise a comprehensive knowledge of lending products, and the client’s business to recommend appropriate financing options and solutions to clients to minimise risk exposure.

Research and Market Information

  • Leverage on market information and trends in the sector (economic context/national & international) to continuously improve service operational efficiency.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Honours’ degree in Business Administration, Economics, and Commerce, Statistics or any other related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in business management, marketing, economics, and any related disciplines is an added advantage.

Required Skills and Competences

  • Flexible and willing to work for long hours.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a large corporate banking environment working directly with client’s e.g. credit / banking / marketing / client relationship management with two years at Supervisory / Senior Officer level.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the market, industry and global events with good business networks.
  • Strategic thinking
  • Ability to develop and manage the Bank’s sales schedules and advise on targets of the Sector and pricing of services offering.
  • Capacity to carry out Loyalty meetings with clients and decide on customer rewards.
  • Good report writing and public presentations skills.
  • Ability to carry out market research and benchmarks and propose product refinements/improvements.
  • High degree of innovation in resolving customer queries and providing solutions while harnessing opportunities.
  • Good public speaker.
  • Excellent interpersonal relations
  • Proven ability to meet timelines and handle multiple tasks.
  • Sales and Marketing skills
  • Analytical thinking
