Job Summary: The Medical Rider is responsible for the timely and safe transportation of laboratory samples and other healthcare-related materials between clinics, laboratories, and patient locations, ensuring adherence to healthcare safety and confidentiality standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pick up and deliver laboratory samples, test results, and consumables between clinics, laboratories, hospitals, and patient homes.
- Ensure that all materials are transported under appropriate conditions (e.g., temperature control for samples)
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using delivery logs or digital tools.
- Obtain sign offs and ensure proper documentation for each delivery and pick up
- Follow all safety, infection prevention, and confidentiality protocols.
- Ensure adherence to traffic laws and company policies.
- Conduct daily checks on the assigned motorcycle to ensure it is in good working condition
- Report any maintenance needs or damages immediately.
- Work with and interact with healthcare staff and patients professionally.
- Handle queries or delivery issues promptly and escalate as necessary.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Valid motorcycle license (Class A) with a clean driving record.
- Should have good phlebotomy skills.
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in the healthcare or courier industry.
- Basic knowledge of medical sample handling and cold chain protocols is an added advantage.
- Minimum of O-Level (UCE) education with a certificate in medical laboratory or any related medical field.
