Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technologist

Nurture Africa (NA) is a Non-Governmental Organisation operating in Wakiso, Hoima, Arua and Mubende Districts. NA is committed to contribute towards the health and development of the most vulnerable children in its areas of operation through high quality education, health care, Children’s rights and Sustainable livelihood programs enabling them to become positive influences in Ugandan society. Its primarily targets HIV infected and affected orphans and vulnerable children and works with their families holistically to enable sustainable change to occur.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory tests and procedures following standard protocols.
- Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment, ensuring proper inventory management.
- Implement quality assurance and safety measures in compliance with regulations.
- Provide training and mentorship to junior staff or trainees.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology or equivalent.
- Must be registered with UAHPC and hold a valid practicing license.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a reputable medical institution.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong planning, organizing, and coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in coaching, mentoring, and people management.
- Knowledge of quality assurance standards and laboratory safety protocols.
- Basic ICT skills for data management and reporting.
