Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH is a Federal Enterprise and part of the German Development Cooperation. GIZ-REALPU is a global project commissioned by the German Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It is implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Urban Development. RELAPU aims “to improve access to Land as a key precondition of poverty and hunger reduction in rural areas for certain population groups especially for women and marginalized groups in Central, Eastern and Northern Uganda.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The Trainee will learn the following.
- Support to the Technical team in organising events under the RELAPU programme at subcounty, district and national level, including any other event that maybe portfolio wide in nature.
- Assist in technical backstopping to data cleaning and quality assurance consultancy in Lango sub-region under supervision.
- Assist in development of concepts, programmes and budgets for events under technical guidance.
- Follow up with districts and sub-counties on data quality and assurance in preparation for land registration documents.
- Attend events, capacity building trainings and field activities as assigned.
- Learning in any other field of a trainee’s professional development.
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of the supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in surveying, land management, IT, computer science, cartography, land economics, valuation surveying, engineering or an equivalent qualification.
Other Knowledge, Additional Competences
- Good understanding of IT technologies (related software, the internet and computer applications e.g. Ms office), GIS is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of the Ugandan land-laws is an added advantage.
- High level of motivation and willingness to learn.
- Dependable, punctual and trustworthy.
- Act professionally in a corporate work environment.
- Be pro-active.
- Ability to work independently while working in a team and good communication skills.
