Its primarily targets HIV infected and affected orphans and vulnerable children and works with their families holistically to enable sustainable change to occur.
Job Summary: The Agricultural Officer will lead the establishment and supervision of demonstration gardens, provide training on backyard gardening, and support nutrition-focused agricultural initiatives in partner schools and communities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain demonstration gardens in Nurture Africa partner schools.
- Train beneficiaries on backyard gardening techniques to improve nutrition.
- Monitor and report on the progress of all demonstration gardens.
- Support the setup of greenhouses and train communities in sustainable gardening.
- Conduct training for Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLAs) on gardening and business models.
- Develop and distribute educational materials on backyard gardening.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in
- Backyard gardening
- Livelihood programs
- VSLA (Village Savings and Loan Association) models
- Formal training in nutrition (certificate or related qualification).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for community engagement.
