Job Title: Senior Trade Information Officer

About Organisation:
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Government Agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024, and is responsible for the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision and control of Free Zones; the development, promotion and coordination of all export-related activities; and to provide for related matters.
Job Summary: To analyze data and disseminate trade related information and insights to support decision making
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate, manage and maintain a modern integrated Export Management Information System (EMIS);
- Verify, and certify exporters’ documentation to ensure accuracy, compliance and authenticity to meet regulatory requirements;
- Identify and recommend relevant e-commerce platforms for onboarding export ready companies;
- Carry out trade data analysis; examine trade data statistics on trade volumes, values, trends and patterns;
- Carry out client analysis to understand their needs preferences and behavior;
- Analyze targeted international markets, industries and competitor countries;
- Assess industry trends to identify emerging trends, opportunities and challenges;
- Carry out firm level competitor analysis, strengths and weaknesses;
- Undertake outreach programs and services to association of producers, manufacturers, exporters and other identifiable groupings; and
- Supervise and appraise staff
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Academic Qualifications Either:
- A Honors’ Bachelor’s Degree in either Marketing, International Business, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology, Computer Science and Data Communications, Information Management Systems, Agricultural Economics or Agribusiness from a recognized University or Institution Or: Full professional Qualification/ Membership of Marketing (CIM) from a recognized degree awarding University or Institution
Work Experience
- At least three (3) years’ working experience at Officer level from a reputable organization/entity
