About Organisation:
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Government Agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024, and is responsible for the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision and control of Free Zones; the development, promotion and coordination of all export-related activities; and to provide for related matters.
Job Summary: To undertake research and disseminate information on Free Zones
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conducting annual Enterprise Surveys to establish the performance of Free Zones;
- Preparing the Annual Report of the Authority;
- Developing and implementing an annual Research Agenda to inform Policy and Strategy for the growth and development of Free Zones;
- Carrying out Market Research and Intelligence on Products and Export markets for Free Zones;
- Developing value chains in Sectors and Products to support the Marketing of Free Zones;
- Creating strategic partnerships with Policy & Research Organizations/ Institutions to increase research and information dissemination on Free Zones; and
- Preparing Policy Papers and Briefs on Free Zones to inform policy formulation and decision making on matters affecting Free Zones
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in either Economics, Statistics or Quantitative Economics from a recognized University.
Work Experience
- A minimum of three (3) years’ working experience at the level of Research Officer in Government or a reputable institution.
