Job Summary: Grow the Bank’s commercial mortgage segment business through sales, service and retention of the assigned customer portfolio and ensure portfolio quality in line with the segments targets and the Bank policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop a strategy for business growth through identifying new customers in the assigned segment and optimising business opportunities from already existing customers through cross selling of other HFB products and services.
- Build and manage client relationships to grow Housing Finance Bank share of wallet through customer engagements (regular calls, visits, written communications etc.)
- Maximise value from customers or existing clients by pursuing avenues to sell and grow a balanced portfolio of services and products (both assets and liabilities).
- Initiate credit applications for assessment / review by completing the documentation (including financial analysis) and submitting to credit for approval in line with credit policies and procedures.
- Build and manage stakeholder relationships in the assigned segment with a view of creating visibility of the HFB brand and grow the commercial mortgage business
- Monitor and evaluate performance of the assigned portfolio in line with the Bank’s Credit risk management framework to ensure timely repayments of instalment, and conduct regular financial analysis to identify early warning signs of default and recommend a plan of action
- Prepare sales and productivity performance reports as shall be required from time to time detailing the performance progress
- Handle customer queries and complaints and resolve them in a timely manner and escalate any unresolved queries in in line with the Customer Service Charter
Financial Responsibility:
- Responsible for delivering set business & financial targets within commercial mortgage segment
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honours Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or any other related field from a recognized university.
- Post-graduate qualifications / Professional Course in relevant discipline would be an added advantage.
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in business growth with an established and demonstrable track record in the field of relationship management, preferably in a commercial bank
- Risk awareness in the banking industry
- Proven track record of structuring mortgage transactions

- The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.
- Ability to build functioning working relationships across the department and cultural boundaries.
- Takes clear accountability and focuses on delivery of broader departmental goals.
- Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model HFB’s values and leadership behaviours.
- Must be a person of impeccable integrity.
