About Organisation:
Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) is a Statutory Government Agency established by the Free Zones (Amendment) Act 30 of 2024, and is responsible for the establishment, development, management, marketing, maintenance, supervision and control of Free Zones; the development, promotion and coordination of all export-related activities; and to provide for related matters.
Job Summary: To provide technical leadership and administrative support in the development and maintenance of special economic free zones
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Providing technical support in the formulation and implementation of the Special Economic Zones Strategies and initiatives in line with the Strategic Plan;
- Manage all project implementation activities, including ensuring that architectural, environmental and codes of practice are adhered to in the SEZ’s;
- Monitoring cost, quality and time performance of projects and preparing regular reports and comments on variances;
- Preparing recommendations and standards for project safeguards for consideration;
- Collaborating with cross functional teams, such as business development and Investor support to provide seamless infrastructure support services to the SEZ’s enterprises;
- Identifying and mitigating technical risks and resolving complex technical issues in the Public Customs areas; and
- Provide quality control for civil works in the Public SEZ; and
- Supervising and appraising staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Honors Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university or in institution of higher learning.
- A Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized awarding Institution
- Must be registered with the Uganda Engineers Registration Board ( UERB)
Work Experience
- At least nine ( 9 ) years’ working experience (3) of which must have been gained at senior officer level in Government or a reputable organization
