The Church in pursuing its vision has experienced exponential growth in the past 40 years and currently comprises 17 Celebration Centers (Church campuses), 3 Children’s villages, 2 Baby Homes, an FM radio station, Schools and some farms.
Job Summary: We are seeking to recruit a Librarian to support and enhance an environment that caters for 21st-century inquiry-based learning.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create and organise a professional library system that tracks, monitors usage of facility and resources.
- Support the teaching and learning process by providing materials and relevant information.
- Organise library media programs and manage the Information management system of the library.
- Demonstrate a culture of innovation and creativity,
- Update WISE and Watoto schools Information management system in a periodic manner.
- Liaise with staff to use the library for a variety of educational purposes, theme weeks, and project displays.
- Organise in-house displays of new library acquisitions and supplier exhibitions.
- Assist in the implementation of the school reading program and liaise with Deputy academics and Heads of department leaders for dedicated library periods.
- Execute library induction courses for all new students and teachers.
- Track library usage, stock records and report accordingly.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The applicant for the role should hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Library and Information Science or any related discipline,
- At least two (2) years’ experience in a school library setting.
- Possess computer literacy and excellent report writing skills.
- Have good self-leadership and collaboration skills.
- Proven track record of record keeping, good communication and interpersonal skills.
