Job Summary: The Business Development Executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and supporting revenue growth through strategic outreach and proposal development. You will play a key role in driving business expansion and positioning Swivel Marketing Uganda as a market leader in experiential and integrated marketing solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in both existing and new markets
- Generate leads through networking, referrals, research, and cold outreach
- Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing clients
- Prepare customized presentations, proposals, and marketing materials for client pitches
- Understand client needs and work with internal teams (creative, operations, finance) to develop appropriate solutions
- Represent the agency at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums
- Track industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities and threats
- Maintain accurate records of business development activities, including pipeline tracking and reporting
- Meet and exceed quarterly and annual sales targets
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, preferably in an advertising, marketing, or media agency
- Strong network of clients or contacts in FMCG, telecoms, financial services, or similar industries is an added advantage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and thrive in a target-driven environment
- Familiarity with marketing, digital, and brand activation strategies
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
