NUNU fund is a social enterprise working to improve the livelihoods of small-scale subsistence farmers in Uganda. Based in Kabale District, our innovative model enables farmers to contribute beans(produce) in exchange for school fee payments. Any surplus value is saved for future essentials like medical expenses—building long-term resilience and financial stability.
Job Summary: NUNU fund is looking for a Finance Officer to join their mission-driven team and help improve the lives of smallholder farmers in Uganda.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Finance Officer to support the daily financial operations of NUNU fund. This role is crucial in maintaining accurate records, ensuring compliance, and supporting the company’s growth and impact.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and manage budgets, analyze financial data, and monitor performance.
- Produce timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, process invoices, and reconcile transactions.
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits and implement inventory control procedures (FIFO).
- Support internal, investor, and statutory audits with relevant documentation.
- Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and review procurement and service provider bills, ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Archive and maintain financial records for audit readiness and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to financial strategy through data analysis and planning.
- Support asset management by tracking and updating company property records.
- Carry out other duties as assigned to support company objectives.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. QBO).
- Demonstrated understanding of finance operations, compliance, and reporting.
