Job Title: Farm Field Supervisor

About Organisation:
Agilis is the largest producer of grains and oilseeds in Uganda through Asili Farms, the group’s farming division. We acquire and develop idle land.
Job Summary: To supervise machine operators, ensure proper use and maintenance of farm machinery, maintain records, and mentor junior staff to optimize farm operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support machine operators to ensure proper input use and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of farm machinery, including fault reporting and repair follow-ups.
- Ensure cleanliness and functionality of machinery through regular inspections and jet-washing routines.
- Maintain detailed records of machine use, service intervals, and breakdowns.
- Ensure mechanics and operators generate thorough defect lists, report faults as quickly as possible as soon as they are identified,
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working on large-scale farms (1,500+ ha).
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or related mechanical/agronomic role.
- Proficiency in English and Kiswahili is required
Work Environment
- Shift work with flexibility for evenings and weekends.
- Physically demanding tasks, including operating near machinery and in varying noise levels.
