Job Title: Computer Aided Design Engineer

Duty Station: Moyo, Uganda
About Organisation:
Tesla Technical services limited was incorporated on 6th day of November the year 2013 with three core business areas which include; power lines and substation works, Building construction and service provision in the telecommunication sector.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Create detailed 2D and 3D models of products, systems, and structures; creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits.
- Design Analysis: Analyze designs for functionality, performance, and manufacturability.
- Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams,integrating and working with project managers design consultants, and sub-contractors, to produce and alter drawings that requires that.
- Design Optimization: Refine designs to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance manufacturability.
- Printing of CAD drawings in various formats and packages and delivering them to the correct contact promptly.
- Providing support to the project team in the design process, to create sketches and drawings work; And managing changes or Alterations in the drawings.
- Critically review and check the drawings for errors, before being sent to project managers and clients in case there are changes.
- Printing various formats of drawing sets for project managers and site superintendents.
- Organizing and uploading drawings to web-based storage sites/collaboration project sites to share drawings with project and subcontractors.
- Create, edit, and update standard details for use in projects.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar CAD engineering role within the construction industry
- Proven experience using industry-standard CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) for creating 2D and 3D construction drawings.
- Strong understanding of construction practices, building codes, and architectural standards
- Proficiency in additional design software programs relevant to construction.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce highly accurate and dimensionally correct drawings.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site work, and technical drawing standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
