Job Summary: Also known as a Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA) Officer, who involves promoting and ensuring the protection of beneficiaries and staff from sexual exploitation and abuse within an organization’s programs and operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities: The key responsibilities of a PSEA Officer include
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring the organization’s PSEA policy and procedures
- Conducting PSEA training sessions for staff, partners, and relevant stakeholders
- Establishing a confidential reporting mechanism for beneficiaries and staff to report incidents of sexual exploitation and abuse
- Investigating and responding to reported incidents in a sensitive and timely manner
- Developing and implementing awareness campaigns and prevention activities to eliminate sexual exploitation and abuse
- Collaborating with other NGOs, UN agencies, and relevant bodies to share information and best practices related to PSEA
- PSEA Coordination – Provide inputs for the development of an operational PSEA Work Plan for TTSL – moyo project.
- Provide technical inputs for the inclusion of PSEA within TTSL Head Country Office Strategy, programming, risk mitigation and management, monitoring and evaluation and budgeting;
- Participate and provide inputs to the PSEA Network to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and establish an inter-agency Community-Based Complaint Mechanism.
- Complaint and feedback mechanisms (CFM) and in line with PSEA and Gender Based Violence.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as social sciences, gender, law, human rights, or international development
- At least two years of relevant experience in plans and programs related to sexual exploitation and abuse, sexual harassment, gender-based violence, staff misconduct and discipline, gender mainstreaming, and/or humanitarian affairs
- Strong communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and ensure constant data protection
- Ability to work in a stressful environment and embrace cultural diversity and sensitivity to gender issues,
- Integrity and transparency: maintains high ethical standards and acts in a manner
- consistent with organizational principles/rules and standards of conduct.
- Professionalism: demonstrates ability to work in a composed, competent and committed manner and exercises careful judgment in meeting day-to-day challenges.
