Reports to: Stores In charge

 

About Organisation:

East African Roofing Systems Ltd is the largest expanded metal company in the East Africa and has several years of experience in the expanded metal industry. It primarily deals in steel products.

 

Job Summary:   Manage inventory in line with established standard operating procedures by maintaining accurate stock records, ensuring organized storage areas, preparing timely stock reports, and providing excellent customer service to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate inventory movement records of all items.
  • Carry out daily reconciliation and update stock cards.
  • Receive, verify, and document daily transfers of finished goods from production.
  • Inspect the final output, compare it to the requirements, and approve or reject the final products.
  • Physically inspect and verify all items from suppliers against purchase orders and supplier delivery documents.
  • Work with the supervisor to initiate replenishment of all stock items.
  • Ensure good customer service through timely serving of customers and exercising good customer care.
  • Maintain a comprehensive data document retrieval system for all store transactions.
  • Ensure correct items and quantities are loaded as per the loading documents.
  • Prepare monthly stock reports.
  • Maintain clean and organized storage areas at all times.
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and end-of-year stock-taking exercises.
  • Operate and control the weighbridge.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply chain management, Procurement and Logistics, or any related fields
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in stores department.
  • Other Qualifications and Skills
  • Must be proficient in IT and computer use
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High moral character and integrity are a must
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Should know about records management and inventory management
  • Should have strong customer service skills
  • Should be a team player, highly flexible, and able to multitask
