CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.
Job Summary: Learn and assist with executing oilfield production operations and support the production maintenance team.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in executing new oil field production commissioning and start-up.
- Assist in collecting and follow up on production-related issues left out by the engineering team.
- Learn to manage emergency response as per the emergency response plan.
- Get familiar with the production process, central control system, ESD, Fire & Gas system, equipment parameters and operation procedure, chemical MSDS and characters, system initial and normal start-up procedure, and emergency shutdown procedure.
- Learn how to carry out routine operations and deal with production abnormalities to avoid production shutdown, equipment damage, or any petroleum-related leaking.
- Participate in operating oil/water/gas and chemical processes, maintain process stability, and treat oil and water to meet specifications.
- Learn to execute production-related equipment routine checks and records and promptly report abnormalities to senior operators.
- Assist in carrying out production-related equipment preventive maintenance.
- Ensure worksite cleanliness and safety is maintained.
- Assist in coordinating and supervising production-related contractor onsite work.
- Participate in all training programs organized by the Company.
- Perform other duties assigned by superiors.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related fields.
- 0-2 years’ work experience with an Oil & Gas industry background is preferred.
- Knowledge:
- Knowledge of oil and gas processes, development, and production.
