True North Consult Ltd is a boutique HR Consultancy Firm that offers bespoke HR solutions to selected clients in various sectors and industries across East Africa, with operational offices in Kampala, Nairobi and Kigali.

 

Job Summary:   The Learning and Development Officer will support our client to design, develop, and deliver training programs that enhance employee skills and knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting training sessions, evaluating learning outcomes, and ensuring continuous professional development of employees.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs, workshops, and courses.
  • Assess training  needs  through  surveys,  interviews,  and  consultations  with management.
  • Design instructional materials, including presentations, manuals, and e-learning content.
  • Conduct training sessions using various methodologies (classroom, virtual, hands-on, etc.).
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, feedback, and performance tracking.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to enhance training programs.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure alignment of training with business goals.
  • Maintain training records and generate reports on program outcomes.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring support to employees as needed.

 

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Trainer, Corporate Trainer, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design and training methodologies.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in e-learning platforms, LMS software, and training tools.
  • Ability to assess training needs and develop customized learning solutions.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Preferred Skills
  • At least 3 years’ experience in conducting and developing Employee training Programmes
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and adaptability skills.

Work Environment

  • This is a full-time position based in Kampala, Uganda. Occasional travel to branch offices, industry conferences.
