About US:
Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200.
Job Summary: To provide technical support and guidance in the management of the Authority’s Airwing.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operating Authority’s Aircraft in a safe and efficient manner.
- Maintaining the Airwing in compliance with all aviation regulations.
- Supervising the maintenance and readiness of the Authority’s fleet.
- Developing and implementing operational plans and procedures for aerial activities.
- Establishing and maintaining collaborative mechanisms with stakeholders to support Conservation Missions.
- Adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular safety audits and drills.
- Preparing workplans and periodic reports.
- Supervising and appraising staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education
- Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL/IR)
Experience
- A minimum of 1000 flight hours Total Time of which 100 should be on any one type of UWA’s aircraft.
