CNOOC International is one of the largest oil and gas companies in Uganda’s energy sector and owns one-third interests in each of Exploration Areas (EA) EA1/1A, EA2 and Kingfisher. Our partners are Total E&P Uganda (33.3%) and Tullow Oil (33.3%). CNOOC International operates the Kingfisher production license.

 

Job Summary:   Support in implementing HSE regulation, identifying potential environmental hazards to avoid environmental accidents or incidents.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in emergency response as per the emergency response plan and assist with the oilfield emergency handling.
  • Participate in oilfield onsite environmental management implementation.
  • Assist in supervising environmental precaution method carried by the work team.
  • Participate in environmental protection equipment management, supervising and ensuring all systems and equipment comply with QHSE regulations.
  • Assist in organizing environmental-related equipment preventive maintenance.
  • Participate in environmental protection of onsite operations, safety situations, analyze, and prepare precautions.
  • Assist with environmental data collection and submission.
  • Participate in environmental-related near misses, accidents and incident reports and cooperate in incident handling and audit.
  • Assist to prepare environmental relative work plan and summary, and cooperate with supervisors to control the environmental budget.
  • Organize environmental protection-related equipment, routine checks and records, and reports abnormalities in a timely manner.
  • Support in raising environmental related equipment purchase requirements.
  • Support environmental-related contractor-onsite management.
  • Participate in onsite environmental-related training and drilling.
  • Conduct onsite environmental-related training.
  • Perform other tasks assigned by the superior.




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Petroleum or Maintenance Major.
  • At least 2 years of environmental safety experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry.

Knowledge

  • Extensive knowledge of environmental management.
  • Knowledge regarding environmental regulation.
