Job Title: Credit Manager

Job Summary: To oversee the credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of creditworthiness of potential customers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers using trade references, credit reports, and internal criteria.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve credit policies and procedures to align with business goals.
- Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments and proactively address potential risks.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and customer service to ensure smooth client onboarding and account management.
- Negotiate payment terms with clients and recommend appropriate credit limits.
- Lead collections efforts and manage relationships with external collection agencies if necessary.
- Prepare regular reports on credit risk, aging analysis, collections, and bad debt provisions.
- Ensure compliance with legal, tax, and regulatory requirements regarding credit and collections.
- Train and mentor junior credit and accounts receivable staff.
- Coordinate with the legal team on disputes and legal recovery when required
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- CPA qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- 5+ years of credit management experience, preferably in a logistics, freight forwarding, or transport sector.
- Proven experience in financial management, accounting, or a similar role.
Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
