Human Capital Business Solutions is a boutique human resources consultancy that specializes in strategic HR consulting, Talent Acquisition & Management and HR Outsourcing services.
On behalf of our client, we are looking for a competent and experienced Business Analyst to be based in Kampala, Uganda.
Job Summary: This role involves analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and providing data-driven recommendations to support decision-making. The Business Analyst shall act as a liaison between stakeholders and technical teams to ensure business requirements are effectively translated into solutions. The role also involves gathering documents, and evaluating business needs to enhance operational efficiency, drive innovation, and support strategic initiatives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engage stakeholders to gather and document business requirements.
- Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to assess needs.
- Analyze existing business processes and workflows.
- Recommend improvements for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Collect, interpret, and analyze data to support business decisions.
- Develop and present reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
- Translate business requirements into functional specifications.
- Work with IT and development teams to ensure solutions align with business goals.
- Serve as the communication bridge between technical teams and business units.
- Ensure stakeholder expectations are aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in planning, execution, and monitoring of projects.
- Track project progress and provide status updates.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test cases and validating outcomes.
- Ensure solutions meet business needs before implementation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, processes, and change requests.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Finance, or a related field.
- Understanding of business process modeling and requirement documentation.
- At least 5 years post qualification experience as a Business Analyst, or a related role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing business environments.
Barriers to Success in Role
- Limited or lack of knowledge about project management principles.
- Inability to understand business process modeling and requirement documentation.
