Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is an independently governed institute within the College of Health Sciences at Makerere University and has the mission “To strengthen health systems in Africa, with a strong emphasis on infectious diseases, through research and capacity development.” IDI has operations across Uganda as well as in a number of other African countries and has a staffing of over 1,000 managing multiple projects in research, clinical services, public health and training.
Job Summary:
- Performs data cleaning activities to eliminate duplicate records and resolve inconsistencies.
- Develops and maintains standardized procedures for data cleaning and validation
- Ensures data accuracy and consistency of the entered data.
- Identifies and corrects data discrepancies, errors, and outliers.
- Implements data validation checks and rules to identify potential data entry errors.
- Collaborates with data entry personnel to resolve data quality issues.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs data cleaning activities to eliminate duplicate records and resolve inconsistencies.
- Develops and maintains standardized procedures for data cleaning and validation
- Ensures data accuracy and consistency of the entered data.
- Identifies and corrects data discrepancies, errors, and outliers.
- Implements data validation checks and rules to identify potential data entry errors.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Registered nurse with valid practicing license.
- Training in Good Clinical Practice and Human Subjects Protection with certificates
- Training in data QA/QC is an asset.
- Bachelors’ degree or Diploma in Nursing
