In all of this, Watoto remains a local church, committed to celebrating Christ and caring for community.

 

Job Summary:   Watoto is seeking to recruit a Nurse to support with day-to-day clinical activities within Baby Watoto, Suubi.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To participate in daily clinical rounds and perform daily nursing duties as allocated by the Nurse
  • Supervisor, including but not limited to attending appointments and working with isolated babies.
  • To ensure that clinical issues are promptly resolved, prioritising on what is best for the health and well-being of the babies within the facility.
  • To ensure that Infections are identified and contained early, and clear instructions given about pertinent infection control.
  • To participate in infants’ feed calculations and nutritional management of those with malnutrition, under the guidance of the Nurse Supervisor.
  • To maintain an up-to-date medical record and provide Clinical updates regarding infants to the Nurse Supervisor.
  • To participate in health programmes within and outside Watoto as and when a need arises.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • The applicant for the role should hold at least a Diploma in Nursing from a reputable institution.
  • Must be a registered Nurse with the Uganda Nurses and Midwives Council.
  • At least two years’ experience in nursing in a school setting.
  • Have a current up-to-date practicing license and Knowledge of basic computer software.
  • Passionate about community health care with ability to work effectively within a team environment and have excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to working within standardized guidelines of Nursing care.
