Job Title: Manager Procurement

About US:
Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities. UWA was established in 1996 and is managed in accordance with the Wildlife Act Cap 200.
Job Summary: To provide strategic leadership and guidance in the management of all procurement and disposal of assets in the Authority.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating the preparation of the Procurement and Disposal Plan.
- Supervising the prequalification and bidding process in a transparent manner.
- Providing technical guidance to Senior Management, staff and Contracts
- Committee on procurement and disposal matters.
- Providing technical support and guidance in the management of Contracts.
- Providing technical guidance and secretarial services to Contracts Committee.
- Preparing periodic procurement reports in accordance with the PPDA Act.
- Providing technical guidance in the development of procurement systems.
- Coordinating the implementation of the decisions of Contracts Committee.
- Conducting market assessments and guiding the Accounting Officer on the market rates.
- Liaising with the Public Procurement and Disposal Authority on procurement and disposal matters.
- Supervising and appraising the staff.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Procurement and Logistics Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management or Business Administration (Procurement) from a recognized University.
- A Master’s degree in either Procurement, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration.
- A full professional qualification with membership in Procurement (CIPS)
Experience
- At least nine (9) years relevant working experience, three (3) of which should have been at Principal Procurement Officer level from a reputable Organization.
