Job Summary: The Finance Lead will oversee the financial management of the Mastercard Foundation Associate Program across all countries. This role involves strategic financial oversight of the program’s budget, ensuring compliance and effective resource utilisation according to donor guidelines and organisational policies. The Finance Lead will work part-time, coordinating closely with full-time finance associates and the project management team to maintain financial integrity and accountability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight and Strategy:
- Develop and implement financial policies and procedures specific to the MFAP.
- Oversee the preparation and revision of the program budget, ensuring alignment with program goals and compliance with donor regulations.
- Monitor financial performance against budget, providing regular financial reports and insights to the Project Manager and stakeholders.
Team Management:
- Supervise and mentor the full-time Finance Associate, ensuring accurate financial reporting and adherence to internal controls.
- Provide leadership in financial decision-making and support capacity building of the finance team within the program context.
Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure strict compliance with donor financial regulations and NFT Consult’s financial policies.
- Identify financial risks related to the program and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate audit processes and ensure resolution of audit findings promptly.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with donors, partners, and internal teams to ensure transparent financial management and reporting.
- Participate in strategic meetings to discuss financial planning and program funding.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Certified Accountant with a professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA).
- At least 3 years of financial management experience, preferably in a program or project setting within the NGO or international development sector.
- Experience in managing donor-funded programs, particularly those funded by international foundations or agencies.
Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with a strong ability to analyse financial data and prepare financial reports.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
