About the Company:
DFCU Bank is a fast growing commercial bank offering a variety of innovative products and services. DFCU Limited was started by the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC) of the United Kingdom and the Government of Uganda through the Uganda Development Corporation (UDC) under the name of Development Finance Company of Uganda Limited. Later restructuring brought in DEG (of Germany) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) as equal partners with CDC and UDC, each having a 25% stake in the company. Its objective was to support long-term development projects whose financing needs and risk did not appeal to the then existing financial commercial lending institutions.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Senior Manager Systems Architecture, the role holder will be responsible for define and manage the Bank’s IT architecture vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with business strategy and objectives. The holder shall lead the development of enterprise-wide standards and frameworks that drive innovation, operational efficiency and stability as well as scalability.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture roadmap, aligning with business goals and priorities.
- Provide strategic direction on the adoption of emerging technologies and platforms.
- Establish governance frameworks to uphold architectural standards, and ensure compliance with security, and regulatory requirements.
- Define the high-level architecture for large-scale projects, ensuring interoperability between systems.
- Provide guidance on system modernization and cloud adoption initiatives.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to align architecture strategies.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Lead architecture reviews and ensure alignment of IT initiatives with strategic goals.
- Foster a culture of innovation by identifying opportunities for process improvement and technology enhancements.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Information Systems Engineering, Mathematics or another related field.
- A Master’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology will be an added advantage.
- Certifications in Enterprise Architecture frameworks such as TOGAF or ArchiMate will be an added advantage.
- 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solutions Architecture or IT Strategy.
- Expertise in cloud platforms, ERP, ESB, API Management and large-scale system design.
- Experience with IT governance, security, and compliance.
- Proficiency with diagrammingtools such as Microsoft Visio and draw.io.
- Strong research skills and knowledge of technology trends.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Self-driven with strong leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a collaborative environment.
