Job Summary: To transport staff and contractors, deliver items and maintain the motor vehicles in good working conditions in line with the administrative guidelines for drivers.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive Bayport vehicles with or without authorized passengers to specified destinations as approved by the supervisor in line with the administrative guidelines and the road safety laws.
- Deliver packages, goods, mails and any other information to specified people, places and offices in line with company policies.
- Carry out daily vehicle maintenance checks and generate reports in line with administrative guidelines and policy on vehicle use and maintenance.
- Check the vehicle status/condition e.g. engine oil, water, nuts, battery water, license, Third Party Insurance, brakes, tyre pressure etc prior to any journey and carry out regular minor vehicle repairs e.g. tightening bolts and nuts, topping up battery water, etc in line with policy.
- Monitor the security of vehicle, authorized passengers and luggage in line with the guidelines.
- Report all major and minor damages and accidents on the vehicle at hand to the supervisor.
- Prepare and submit vehicle monthly reports in line with Policy.
- Keep and update record of vehicle movement logbook, insurance, in line with guidelines.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Holder of Driving permit Class B (Car =<5-Seater) and Class D1 (Passenger 14-seater).
- Minimum level of ‘O’ qualification and training in driving.
- Defensive driving skills and mechanical skills are an added advantage.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to manage workload effectively, request or give support as and when required.
- Ability to present ideas and solutions in user friendly language.
- Strong customer service orientation
