Job Title:  Accounts Assistant (2 No Experience Jobs)

Job Summary:   As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records and ensuring accurate financial data for our operations. This position offers a dynamic work environment where teamwork is essential. You will report directly to the Head of Finance and work closely with a small team of dedicated professionals. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, responsible, and possesses strong problem-solving skills.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check figures, postings, and documents for correct entry, mathematical accuracy, and proper codes.
  • Prepare bank deposits by compiling data from cashiers, verifying and balancing receipts, and sending cash, checks, or other forms of payment to banks.
  • Comply with federal, state, and company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Receive, record, and bank cash, checks, and vouchers.
  • Monitor status of loans and accounts to ensure that payments are up to date.
  • Reconcile records of bank transactions.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related fields.
  • Required Skills: Mathematics, Critical Thinking, Monitoring, Time Management, Speaking.
  • Technology Knowledge: Proficient in accounting software (specifically Ritebooks), ERP software (QuickBooks), MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Language Proficiency: English and Luganda.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: A certificate in CPA is an added advantage.
  • Preferred Skills: Reading Comprehension, Speaking.
  • Preferred Knowledge Areas: Economics and Accounting, Computers and Electronics.
