Job Summary:   The Store Manager role is a full-time in-country role reporting directly to the Field Manager and ultimately the Branch Manager directly overseeing the receiving, production, storage and  dispatch of cocoa.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:   The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise casual laborers in weighing, stacking and mixing cocoa
  • Organize effective and secure storage of cocoa in the warehouse
  • Manage moisture, pests, organization and cleanliness of the store
  • Ensure proper security measures in place for warehouse
  • Carry out weekly bag counts and monthly stock counts
  • Maintain organic storage requirements and documentation
  • Receive and certify weights of cocoa beans into store
  • Oversee mixing, bagging and export preparation
  • Coordinate cleaning and loading of trucks for dispatch from warehouse
  • Liaise with the finance team to ensure weight and finance accountability for the site Collect and dispatch samples as requested to main office
  • Updated stock records
  • Dispatch of product samples to Kampala factory





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Fluent spoken and written English
  • Previous management experience
  • 5 years of experience in an agricultural business
  • High proficiency in MS Excel and Office
  • Knowledge of Organic, Fair Trade, and UTZ certification programs
  • Previous work experience in private agribusiness
  • Previous work experience in warehousing, export and logistics
  • Excellent communication skills via email, phone, and report writing
  • Willingness to live and work in rural area for extended periods
