About Organisation:

Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute (UWRTI) is a semi-autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, established by Uganda Wildlife Research & Training Institute Act, 2016. The Institute is mandated to: “Undertake research and training services for sustainable conservation and management of Uganda’s wildlife resources.’’

 

Job Summary:   To plan, instruct, evaluate and examine students in the Tourism Management department.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares, plans and organizes materials for Practical training sessions.
  • Conducts lectures and Practical training according to the set time table.
  • Sets, administers, and marks examinations.
  • Carries out continuous assessment Supervises students’ research projects.
  • Supervise and appraises instructors.
  • Supervises internship

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • An Honours Bachelor’s Degree either in; Tourism, Arts in Environmental Management, Tour and Travel, Development Studies, Leisure and Hospitality Management, Arts (with Geography, Tourism and History options), Natural Science (Geography and Wildlife), Commerce, Economics or International Studies from a recognized University or Institution.
  • A Master’s Degree in any of the specified disciplines above from a recognized University or Institution.
  • Working Experience Three (3) years working experience at the level of Instructor in government, or equivalent level from a reputable Training Institution.
