African Clean Energy (ACE) is a B-Corp certified enterprise that produces and distributes the ACE One solar-biomass hybrid energy system. A small-yet-powerful smokeless stove, it will virtually eradicate the catastrophic impact that traditional cooking and heating methods inflict on health, environment, and poverty in developing countries around the world, and provides electricity.

 

Job Summary:   We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Production Manager to join our team. The incumbent in the role will be in charge of all the manufacturing, production and assembling-related activities in a factory. The primary duties include planning, coordinating and controlling all the steps in the production process to make sure production projections are achieved with the highest level of Quality control.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall production and manufacturing process and offer supervision and training of all factory workers.
  • Preside over a safe and pleasant work environment for factory team members during daily operations.
  • Maintain and update SOPs for work stations prioritising safety and efficiency.
  • Plan and forecast production requirements, adjusting workflows as needed.
  • Manage and track inventory levels of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods and timely share the production and inventory reports.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on production, inventory, and quality control.
  • Ensure regular maintenance of machines to prevent downtime.
  • Maintain strong quality control procedures to ensure products meet standards and Implement corrective actions for defective products.
  • Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure safe delivery of ACE One stoves to branch locations.
  • Coordinate refurbishment of used stoves.
  • Optimize factory layout to enhance productivity.
  • Provide input on factory improvements and expansion plans.
  • Participate in training and development programs.
  • Prepare and constantly update the repairs and maintenance guide for response teams on the basis of improvements and upgrades of the ACE One.
  • Provide quarterly raw materials usage data to the Supply Chain Team for URA return filing.
  • Work with Operations manager to ensure yearly UNBS audits are conducted.
  • Work and collaborate with procurement team to source factory consumables and locally sourced components.
  • Collaborate with inventory officer to ensure that stocks levels of raw materials and consumables are monitored and communicated to your supervisor promptly.
  • Any other activities determined necessary by management.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • At least a Degree or equivalent qualification in Industrial Engineering or any related field.
  • At least 5 years’ proven experience in Production and Manufacturing or similar role preferably in renewable energy.
  • Recommendation and Residence letter from LC 1 Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal
  • Strong skill set in production planning and quality control,
  • Working knowledge of the Environmental Protection protocols and Occupational Safety and Health Administration regulations.
  • Leadership abilities and proven record of working with teams at a supervisory level are a necessary supplement.
  • Proven ability to achieve targets and deliver results consistently
  • Results-driven with the ability to focus on achieving set objectives and goals.
  • Must be a willing to work and stay in Gulu
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work flexible hours
