Job Summary:   The position holder will be key in driving the organisation’s business development efforts including developing Strategic partnerships. cultivating relationships with partners. securing funding opportunities. and developing a vibrant ecosystem supporting the organization’s goals.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and engage potential partners (corporations, Foundations, Governments, NGOs, academic institutions. etc.) that align with the organization’s mission.
  • Buti and manage relationships with new and eating partners to create sustainable. long-term collaborations.
  • Negotiate and structure partnership agreements, ensuring mutual benefits and dear goals.
  • Develop and implement partnership strategies to expand the organization’s network influence, and reach.
  • Lead efforts to secure funding through a combination of grants. corporate partnerships. and other fundraising channels keeping a &rang focus on innovative revenue dreams
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising Strategy. including prospect identification. proposal writing, and partner Stewardship.
  • Monitor and report on fundraising activities ensuring progress toward targets.
  • Map the relevant ecosystems within the organization’s sector and identify key players, influencers and opportunities for collaboration in Uganda and the East African Region.
  • Establish and manage networks of organizations. businesses, and individuals that share common interests and goals.
  • Facilitate the development of partnerships that foster innovation and knowledge exchange within the sector
  • Conduct market research and stakeholder mapping to identify emerging trends, opportunities. and competitive dynamics.
  • Develop and maintain a Strategic plan for partnership and ecosystem development to align with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership and Strategic guidance in the identification and evaluation of new business opportunities.
  • Work closely with senior management to develop business development priorities and align activities with the organization’s mission.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (e.g.. communications. programs, finance) to ensure alignment in messaging. funding proposals, and partner engagement
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for management and external stakeholders on the progress of business development activities.
  • Provide guidance and training to internal teams on belt practices for partnership biding. fundraising. and ecosystem development
  • Create and implement systems and tools to track and manage relationships, proposals, and funding opportunities.

 




Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Admistration, International Development, Business Management, Marketing or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, fundraising, or partnership management, preferably in a non-profit or development-focused organisation
  • Proven track record in identifying negotiating and managing Strategic partnerships and fundraising campaigns.
  • Experience in ecosystem development and cross-sector collaboration is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • Ability to think strategically and analytically with a problem solving approach to identifying opportunities.
  • Experience in project management inducing setting objectives, managing timelines. and coordinating teams.
  • Knowledge of fundraising tools, platforms, and trends in the nonprofit sector
  • Understand the relevant sector and Industry in which the organisation operates.
  • self-motivated, and goal-oriented.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong negotiator and influencer.
  • Collaborative team player with a Strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the organisation’s mission.
