Over the years the company has expanded operations to include processed chicken and further processed products. The company started its operations in 1984. The company’s Head Office is in Exsan House along Enterprise road. Kenchic is proud to be the largest integrated poultry operation in East and Central Africa and deals in day-old chicks, processed chicken meat and further processed products such as smoked sausages, choma sausages & sausages.
Job Summary: As the Packaging Supervisor, you will be tasked with the responsibility to oversee all operations in the packing hall section.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Production
- Putting strategies in place to execute and actualize daily production plans.
- Putting strategies in place and implementing them to achieve maximum productivity to achieve the daily required production yields.
- Strategically carry out work allocation in the packing section in a way whereby productivity is maximized.
- Participate in both ad hoc and planned stock taking exercises at the packaging section.
Quality control
- Putting and implementing controls in place to control packing errors such as mispacking, mislabeling, wrong batch numbers etc.
- Ensuring all packing members comply with quality control standards and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring errors.
Safety
- Monitoring and implementing strategies to ensure the safety of all staff at the packaging area and enforce safety measures ensuring all members comply with safety regulations.
- Investigate and report any safety incidents/accidents.
Continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve the packing process and efficiency.
- Continuous training of packing staff members on standard operation procedures, quality control procedures, safety protocol, product specifications etc.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Diploma in food production/ food science from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in an FMCG environment.
- Experience in a poultry processing plant is an added advantage.
