Job Summary: The Online Video Editor is responsible for assembling raw footage, selecting shots, and creating polished, engaging videos that align with the project brief and company branding. This role involves close collaboration with producers, senior editor, supervisors, Head of Creative and other production staff to ensure projects meet creative standards and deadlines. The Online Video Editor must balance technical proficiency with creative storytelling to capture and retain audience attention.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Video Assembly & Editing
- Review, organize, and assemble raw footage into a cohesive narrative.
- Add graphics, text, music, and other elements to enhance the final production.
- Color correct and color grade to maintain visual consistency across footage.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work with the Online Video Production Supervisor, Senior Online Video Editor, and project leads to understand creative goals and deadlines.
- Incorporate feedback from senior team members, ensuring final edits align with branding and client expectations.
- Communicate editing progress and issues clearly, suggesting solutions when challenges arise.
Quality Control & Technical Excellence
- Maintain high technical standards for video exports, adhering to project specifications (e.g., resolution, frame rate, format).
- Verify audio levels, syncing, and clarity to ensure a seamless viewing experience.
- Troubleshoot common post-production problems (e.g., file corruption, syncing issues, color mismatch).
Asset Management
- Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and backup libraries to allow for efficient retrieval and updates.
- Follow version control procedures to track project changes and maintain clear revision histories.
- Assist in archiving and cataloguing completed projects for future reference.
Continuous Improvement
- Keep up-to-date with new editing techniques, software features, and industry trends.
- Actively participate in team meetings, offering suggestions to enhance workflows and creative output.
- Seek out opportunities to learn from senior editors and other creative team members
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Academic: A diploma or degree in Film, Media Production, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
- Professional: Demonstrated skill using (e.g., Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Creative Suite (Light room, Premier Pro, Photo shop & After Effects), Adobe Sound Enhancer or similar software.
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in video editing or related post-production work preferred,

Technical Skills
- Proficiency in editing software, color correction, and basic audio mixing.
- Familiarity with motion graphics or basic VFX is a plus.
- Understanding of social media video formats and best practices.
Soft Skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to spot errors in footage, audio, or graphics.
- Strong time-management skills for handling multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to understand and execute on feedback.
