Job Summary: The IT Personnel at S&S Enterprise are responsible for providing technical support and maintaining the IT infrastructure to ensure smooth business operations across the enterprise. This role involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, managing network and system configurations, and assisting end-users with technical problems.
IT Personnel work collaboratively with other departments to implement and support technology solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive digital transformation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Troubleshooting:
- Provide first-level technical support to employees, diagnosing and resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Respond promptly to support requests via helpdesk, phone, or email, ensuring minimal disruption to daily operations.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external vendors as needed.
System and Network Administration:
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including desktops, laptops, servers, and peripheral devices.
- Support the management of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls, ensuring secure and reliable connectivity.
- Monitor system performance and conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, backups, and virus scans.
User Training and Documentation:
- Provide training and guidance to staff on using IT systems and software applications effectively.
- Develop and maintain user documentation, including FAQs, troubleshooting guides, and technical manuals.
- Assist in the creation of internal IT policies and procedures.
IT Project Support:
- Participate in IT projects, such as system upgrades, new technology implementations, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to test and deploy new IT solutions, ensuring minimal disruption during the transition.
Security and Compliance:
- Support the implementation of IT security measures, including access controls, encryption, and regular security audits, to safeguard company data and systems.
- Ensure that all IT activities comply with relevant policies, Ugandan Labor Laws, and international data protection standards.
Inventory and Asset Management:
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, including hardware and software inventories, using designated asset management tools.
- Assist in the procurement and deployment of IT equipment, coordinating with vendors to obtain cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; an Associate’s degree with relevant experience is acceptable.
Experience:
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an IT support or technical assistance role, preferably within a retail or enterprise environment.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting hardware and software issues and managing network connectivity is essential.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), or similar credentials are highly desirable.
Skills and Competencies
- Technical Proficiency:
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), common office software (Microsoft Office Suite), and basic networking concepts.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues.
