Job Summary:   The Stores Assistant is responsible for assisting in the efficient operation of the store by handling inventory, stock management, and ensuring smooth flow of goods and materials. The role requires accuracy, organization, and adherence to company policies and safety regulations.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock and supplies.
  • Organize and store items in designated locations to maintain an orderly inventory system.
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the Stores Supervisor.
  • Assist in issuing goods and materials to various departments as per requests.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock movements, receipts, and dispatches.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and assist in periodic inventory audits.
  • Ensure proper labeling, packaging, and storage of materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Assist in processing purchase orders and liaising with suppliers when necessary.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations, including handling hazardous materials safely.
  • Keep the storage area clean, organized, and in compliance with company standards.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the exact or similar role with verifiable established organizations . Added advantage if worked in construction/steel companies.
  • Knowledge of stock management systems and inventory control procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory management software (ERP/SAP).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy items as required.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
