Job Summary:   QUALITY PLASTICS UGANDA LIMITED is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician to perform basic laboratory analysis on recycled PET flakes and PET pellets such as washing quality of PET flakes, purity/contamination test, PET pellets colour measurement, food grade quality of PET pellets and supplied materials to ensure quality is maintained, following the company Sops. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Mukono.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for writing of Standard Operating procedures and checklist for all activities performed in the laboratory.
  • Perform basic laboratory analysis on received raw materials such as washing agents.
  • Perform basic laboratory analysis on recycled PET flakes and PET pellets such as washing quality of PET flakes, purity/contamination test, PET pellets color measurement, food grade quality of PET pellets and supplied materials to ensure quality is maintained, following the company SOPs.
  • Responsible for reagents preparation and standardization.
  • Develop accurate record and prepare reports on the analysis carried out.
  • Perform routine operation, maintenance, and validation of laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Maintain compliance to all internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to during laboratory processes.
  • Responsible for the cleanliness of the work environment.

 



Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum Experience: 2+ years in laboratory analysis
  • Minimum Education: Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Industrial Chemistry.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Excellent Communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Good Knowledge of MS Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable standards, local rules and regulations
