Job Summary:   The position holder is responsible for identifying. developing. and implementing strategies aimed at supporting and growing micro and small businesses within the organization’s target market

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct market research to analyze trends, challenges, and opportunities for micro and small businesses (MSBs).
• Identify service gaps and assess business needs through
• engagement with entrepreneurs and Stakeholders. Provide business advisory services, including darning, marketing. finance. and operations.
• Organize training programs and mentorship on financial literacy, digital marketing, and supply chain management Facilitate networking opportunities with clients, investors and partners
• Assist businesses in accessing financing by connecting them with financial institutions and supporting funding applications.
• Develop strategic partnerships with local organizations, financial institutions, and government agencies.
• Engage with communities and Stakeholders to advocate for polities that support small business growth.
• Track and assess the impact of business support initiatives using data-driven insights.
• Prepare reports on key performance indicators. success dories. and business interventions.
• Conduct impact assessments to refine future business development Strategies.
• Focus on empowering underserved groups such as women, youth, and rural entrepreneurs.
• Encourage digital transformation and the adoption of technology for business efficiency.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Economics, Entrepreneurship. or a related field.
• A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g.. SME Development Microfinance) is an advantage
• At least 5 years of experience in banking specifically lending to MSMEs OR at lead 5 years in a reputable accounting firm offering advisory services and audit of local business ). Any relevant certifications in business development. project management or microfinance (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP). Certified Business Coach (CBC) or similar) would be an advantage.

Other skills and personal attributes:

• Proficiency in using business development tools, project management software, and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of business development, financial management, marketing and operations, with a focus on the needs of micro and small businesses.
• Ability to offer practical actionable advice and mentorship to entrepreneurs at various tars of business development
• Strong networking skills
• Experience in designing and facilitating training programs and workshops for small business owners and entrepreneurs
• Excellent communication and analytical slots
• Proven ability to manage multiple business development projects, monitor progress and report on outcomes effectively.
