Kakira Sugar Limited (KSL) is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda. KSL boasts of two sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga.
Job Summary:
- Assist the Instrument Technician in preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Support the performance testing and corrective measures for field instruments.
- Gain foundational knowledge in instrumentation and control systems specific to sugar, power generation, and distillery plants.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the line supervisor.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with Preventive Maintenance: Work closely with the Instrument Technician to ensure routine maintenance of instruments is performed to avoid malfunctions.
- Aid in Breakdown Maintenance: Support troubleshooting and repair tasks to restore system functionality during breakdowns.
- Participate in Performance Testing: Help with testing field instruments and implementing corrective measures as directed.
- Learning and Development: Acquire skills and knowledge in instrumentation and control systems relevant to sugar, power generation, and distillery plants.
- Ad hoc Duties: Undertake other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
Educational Requirements
- Diploma in:
- Electrical Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Telecommunications
- Computer Science & Information Technology
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Must have good knowledge of computers.
Experience
- No prior experience required.
