Job Summary: DHL Global Forwarding has an opening for Senior Import / Exports Operations Specialist in Kampala,Uganda. To co-ordinate, control, plan and manage all aspects within the Import, Exports and Cross Trade procedure in products. The Senior Import / Export Operations Specialist is a vital link within the supply chain process and must have extensive knowledge on both local and destination requirements. Key Duties and Responsibilities: In this Senior Import / Exports Operations Specialist position
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing customers to maintain their business.
- Handle customer complaints and enquiries and share with supervisor for escalations.
- Update the clients in a timely manner as agreed upon during the onboarding.
- Provide high levels of customer service with a sense of urgency.
- Support Head of Products with the implementation of new/change of systems update/upgrades in CW1.
- Arrange for the movement of shipment from Pick up at customer to Delivery at the customers premises or with Shipping Lines for the for Export shipments
- Book with carrier/Update CW1 remarks with booking info.
- Support the GSC with allocated activities and ensure that the files are well managed.
- Support by sharing the documents with the CDZ team to enable them declare the files and process the shipment for customs clearance by preparing a customs entry.
- Support and Complete export documents.
- Support other team members by supervising operations and provide backup for absence/ peaks in operational activities
- Quality check documentation before lodging with the shipping line.
- Ensure that you process the MBL/HBL in accordance with the stipulated procedures
- Monitor and follow up until shipment is delivered.
- Send pre-alerts to all customers.
- Bill and close the shipment in CWI upon shipment readiness.
- Uploading of all shipping documents into the CW1 e-Doc system.
- Update all your milestones and ensure they are done as per the stipulated target.
- Ensure all your sick files are resolved and flies closed.
- Follow up with customers for feedback and best practices.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of the OFR/RFR/AFR product on Export and Import
- Good Negotiation and communication skills
- High result orientation
- Customs regulation knowledge
- Able to work timely with high accuracy
- MS Office Tools knowledge
- Must have a degree
- EAFFPC Certificate will be advantageous
- Preferred Cargo Wise experience
