The school provides an academic environment that permits learning, play and the wholistic growth of the child. It is fully registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.

 

Job Summary:   The Stoneridge School is seeking a compassionate and professional School Guidance and Counseling Professional to support the academic, social, emotional, and career development of our learners. The ideal candidate will create a supportive and nurturing environment, helping learners overcome challenges and reach their full potential.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Learner Support

  • Provide individual and group counseling to address academic, social, and emotional challenges.
  • Help learners develop personal, social, and career aspirations.
  • Identify learners at risk and provide timely interventions or referrals.

Academic Guidance

  • Assist learners in understanding their strengths and areas of improvement to excel academically.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop personalized support plans for learners with academic challenges.

Career Counseling

  • Introduce learners to various career paths and opportunities through workshops and sessions.
  • Guide learners in exploring their interests and planning their educational journey.

Crisis Intervention

  • Offer immediate support and intervention during emergencies or crises.
  • Work with the school leadership, parents, and external agencies to ensure learners’ safety and well-being.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to promote learners’ holistic development.
  • Serve as a bridge between the school, families, and community resources.

Program Development

  • Design and implement age-appropriate counseling programs and initiatives.
  • Promote awareness of mental health and emotional well-being through school-wide activities.

Record Keeping

  • Maintain confidential records of interactions and counseling sessions with learners.
  • Prepare reports and analyze data to inform school policies and identify trends.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in a school setting.
  • Certifications: Registration or licensure as a counselor (if required by your region).

Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trust and rapport with learners, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of child development and effective counseling techniques.
  • Proficiency in record-keeping and reporting.
