About Organisation:

Ndejje University is private, multi –campus, Christian university in Uganda. Established in 1992, Ndejje University is the oldest private university and the fastest growing in Uganda. In 1995 the university gained its status under the ownership of six church of Uganda dioceses in Buganda Region in what is known as “Ndejje university Foundation consortium”. The consortium is registered as Company limited by Guarantee, not having share capital.

 

Job Summary:   To provide effective support to the Records Management function in the University in accordance with professionally accepted standards and legal requirements.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read, sort and appropriately file all the incoming documents.
  • Ensure safe custody of all documents and information in the Central Registry.
  • Retrieve archived materials and document and monitor and supervise movements of files.
  • Ensure that sensitive records are protected from unauthorized access.
  • Make sure the University complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Training staff on best practices for records management.
  • Capture all University records into an approved record keeping system.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Science, Records and Archives Management or any other related subject; or a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a postgraduate diploma in Library and Information Science, Records and Archives Management or any other related subject from a recognised institution of higher learning.
  • At least three (3) years’ work experience as a Records Management Officer in a reputable organisation.
  • Organisation skills.
  • ICT Literate.
  • Good interpersonal skills and communication skills.
  • An excellent track record of high ethical standards and professionalism.
  • A mature and practicing Christian who subscribes to the University’s Core values and Philosophy.
  • A person of very good standing within the Church and community.
  • A person with experience in higher education institutions will have an added advantage.
  • Between 30-45 years of age at the time of application.
