Kipekee Solutions Limited a company located in Gayaza Manyangwa Wakiso, that specializes in blending herbal teas from herbs, fruits and spices in a bid to grow its brand Pumzi teas.

 

Job Summary:   It seeks to hire a Quality Control Lead to join our team. This is a full time job and the person will be responsible for overseeing the quality and safety of our herbal tea products, ensuring they meet all regulatory and company standards.

This role involves developing and implementing quality assurance policies, conducting regular inspections, and leading a team. The Food Quality Assurance Manager will work closely with production, procurement, and R&D teams to ensure that our products are safe, consistent, and of the highest quality. The successful candidate will have a strong background in food science, quality control, and regulatory compliance, with excellent leadership and communication skills. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducting an assessment of the company’s production processes and curating in-house quality policies and ensuring that employees and procedures meet them
  • Overseeing the production process and staff to ensure products meet standards
  • Planning, executing, and monitoring product testing to ensure products are thoroughly tested and audited
  • Analyzing production data to identify areas for improvement
  • Collecting data on inspections and other aspects, such as production line cleanliness, and preparing reports
  • Reviewing quality testing policies and procedures to ensure regulatory standards are followed
  • Making decisions regarding the issuance of recall notices
  • Understanding customer and stakeholder requirements to develop effectual quality control processes
  • Devising specifications for products/ processes
  • Setting raw material requirements for suppliers and monitoring their compliance.
  • Ensure that the manufacturing processes comply with both local and global production standards
  • Collaborating with quality personnel for the implementation of systems, procedures, and standards of operation
  • Conducting quality audits to ensure that the quality policies are being adhered to
  • Training quality assurance personnel for building a strong work unit





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 03 years of experience in food quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
  • Experience with HACCP, GMP, and other quality management systems.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management software.
  • Experience with auditing and inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of product development and manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to develop and deliver training programs.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Experience with risk assessment and mitigation.
  • Ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements.
  • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.
  • Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
