The Insurance Training College (ITC) of Uganda was established in 1964 as the training arm of Uganda’s Insurance sector. The College is recognized under the Insurance (amendment) Act 2011, which came into force in 2011 as the Insurance Institute of Uganda (IIU) and by the Insurance Act 2017 which transformed the Institute into the Insurance Training College of Uganda, a public tertiary institution. ITC is licensed by National Council for Higher Education (NHCE) and all its Programmes are accredited and recognized by National Council of Higher Education (NCHE).
Job Summary: The Graduate Trainee in the Training Unit will support various activities aimed at ensuring the efficient operation of the unit. This trainee will be responsible for managing both online and physical training programs, as well as assessments, offering a valuable learning opportunity in the field of training coordination.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Support in the Teaching Studio
- Assist in setting up and operating the teaching studio for online lectures and training sessions.
- Ensure all technical equipment is functional and provide assistance to instructors during sessions.
Support for Physical Classes
- Facilitate the smooth running of physical classes by managing logistical setup, including preparing the classroom environment, arranging materials, and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
- Provide hands-on assistance to instructors during sessions, ensuring an optimal learning environment for students.
Invigilation of Online Exams
- Monitor and invigilate online exams in the lab, ensuring compliance with exam protocols and resolving any technical issues.
- Offer technical support to students and faculty throughout the examination process.
Monitoring Online Classes
- Oversee the smooth running of online classes by assisting instructors in managing virtual platforms and addressing any challenges faced by students.
- Ensure adherence to institutional guidelines for online learning.
- Take attendance for both online and physical classes.
Administrative Support
- Maintain and organize departmental files, memos, and other correspondence.
- Assist the Training Officer in scheduling, coordinating, and managing training activities and events.
- Draft reports and respond to queries related to training programs.
Other Duties
- Participate in additional tasks as assigned by the Training Officer, supporting the efficient delivery of training programs.

- Up to date student admission information.
- Increased enrolment numbers
- Increased awareness of ITC programmes.
- Achievement of students’ appropriate career paths.
- Well organized events
- Timely submission of reports
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, Insurance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in coordinating academic programs, including scheduling and student support.
- Prior experience working in an academic insurance setting is required.
- Knowledge of online learning systems and virtual platforms is highly desirable.

- Proficiency in using computer systems and managing online learning platforms.
