Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are executed efficiently with quality, according to the planning and within a good sequence.
  • Responsible for the safety, quality, environmental and efficiency of all maintenance in Instrumentation discipline activities at site.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to integrated Instrumentation maintenance team to ensure all maintenance activities are achieved whilst ensuring compliance with Company policies and operating procedures/guidelines.
  • Build the onsite daily maintenance in Instrumentation discipline.
  • Assist to optimize operation and functionality by using and improving parameters and tools.
  • Assistance to the Commissioning/start up teams and Production/Maintenance CPY teams as required and attend SAT as required.
  • Prepare intervention reports related to discipline.
  • Prepare complex site maintenance procedures for the testing of Safety Instrumented Functions (SIF) prepared with site supervision, ensuring incorporation of best practice.
  • Use and develop, by proposing modifications, the digital monitoring tool available as IMS-Maintenance Advisor-PI-MPFM monitoring
  • Responsible for using and promoting IMS / Maintenance Advisor as a mandatory daily tool for site instrumentation health monitoring. Develop maintenance and operations better efficiency with this tool and related procedures.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and guidance to site personnel on the operation and maintenance in Instrumentation discipline ensuring highest safety standards, a timely response to queries and minimal disruption to operations.
  • Proactively monitor equipment and provide feedback, identifying opportunities to maximize production and performance and share best practice.
  • Conduct ad-hoc technical surveys at site providing technical reports identifying problems and solutions and ensuring optimum performance from contractors.
  • Ensure all relevant operations and maintenance procedures are maintained in an accurate and status and are available on site.
  • Assist the department management and planning team in implementing the scheduling of discipline maintenance activities ensuring that site personnel have all resources  to timely execute the tasks.
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and effective manner and that all interventions are controlled by authorized persons, satisfy statutory and Company standards and that no hazardous incidents or events occur.
  • Lead investigations into equipment failures and outages with E&I Method Support Team.
  • Prepare reports relating to equipment performance. As technical report with analysis and improvements proposals.
  • Vendor management on site.
  • IECEX-ATEX: Good theoretical and perfect practical knowledge of these norms. Ensure that all works are performed accordingly, and site equipment remains in accordance with this requirement.
  • Team development and training.
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with site personnel through effective communication and with E&I Support Team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contractor / supplier performance and improve the quality of services / products supplied.
  • Monitor contractor performance in Instrumentation discipline and participate, as appropriate, in contractor audits.
  • Assist the team on the job training process for constant competency growth.
  • Supervises and coordinates on-site work carried out by SMC engineers in the disciplines under his/her responsibility.
  • Ensure the management of the intervention reports.





Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in Electronic or Electrical engineering or relevant equivalent from an accredited university or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Oil and Gas and Petrochemical industry, with thorough knowledge on various safety regulations, standards, procedures, technology etc. Good knowledge of codes and standards related to Instrumentation discipline. Hazardous Area experience is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of the Company’s’ General Specifications (GS), Guides manuals GM, SIL requirements
  • Ideal candidate shall be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards as well as best Industry Practices
  • A good awareness of E&I disciplines particularly in ICSS using HMI tools.
  • A good working knowledge of office software packages such as Excel, and preferably experienced in a CMIMS (e.g. SAP, UNISOL)
  • Good interpersonal and organizational skills as well as a good level of computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
