About Organisation:
Ndejje University is private, multi –campus, Christian university in Uganda. Established in 1992, Ndejje University is the oldest private university and the fastest growing in Uganda. In 1995 the university gained its status under the ownership of six church of Uganda dioceses in Buganda Region in what is known as “Ndejje university Foundation consortium”. The consortium is registered as Company limited by Guarantee, not having share capital.
Job Summary: To prepare financial reports for the University.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain clear and up-to-date books of accounts that meet internationally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
- Prepare timely financial reports for audit and ensure their presentation to management.
- Prepare weekly and monthly cash flow projection reports for informed management decision making.
- Prepare weekly and monthly fees collection reports for informed decision making.
- Manage accounts receivables.
- Review and follow up the accountabilities for all funds advanced to the University staff for official work.
- Conduct regular inventory, oversee and maintain an up-to-date record of the University assets.
- Supervise the reconciliation of all the University bank accounts.
- Liaise with banks regarding students’ fees.
- Oversee the external audit function and liaise with internal auditors.
- Lead/train/supervise other team members within the finance function.
- Any other official duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- An Honours Bachelor’s Degree in either Commerce, Accounting and Finance or Business Administration or a related field from an internationally recognised University.
- Full professional accounting qualification e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA, CIMA or its equivalent.
- A member of a recognized professional accounting body like the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) or its equivalent.
- At least seven (7) years working experience in financial management in a reputable organisation, three (3) of which must be in a senior financial management position.
- An excellent track record of high ethical standards and professionalism.
- A mature and practicing Christian who subscribes to the University’s Core values and Philosophy.
- A person of very good standing within the Church and community.
- A person with experience in higher education institutions will have an added advantage.
- Between 35-45 years of age at the time of application.
