Texans and Ugandans on Mission (T&UM), (formerly East Africa Ministries), is an affiliate of Texans on Mission. T&UM is a non-profit organization founded in 2008 by Michael Graham Radler of the Radler Foundation and is Committed to humanitarian work and community development. We are Christians on mission to transform and empower people across the world to prosper through provision of sustainable safe water, health-promotions, and economic initiatives, while sharing the love of God.
T&UM is dedicated to drilling boreholes for communities, providing training on preventative health, and village savings and loans associations VSLA), engaging youth in trauma healing and talent identification through sports, and training church leaders to be agents of both physical and spiritual transformation in their communities.
Job Summary: We are seeking a reliable and mission-driven Driver / Ministry Facilitator to support ministry operations by providing transportation and facilitating communications between church leaders and our organization. This position plays a key role in coordinating activities, collecting reports from church leaders, and ensuring smooth logistical operations. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a commitment to ministry goals, and the ability to manage transportation needs efficiently.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Transportation & logistics:
Driving and transporting
- Safely operate the organization’s vehicle to transport ministry team members, supplies, and church leaders between various locations.
- Ensure timely arrival at meetings, events, and ministry activities across designated regions.
- Maintain the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of the vehicle, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
- Ensure the vehicle is operated in accordance with traffic regulations and company policies.
- Plan and follow the most efficient routes to minimize time and fuel consumption.
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary.
Vehicle Maintenance:
- Regularly inspect the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
- Perform routine maintenance checks (e.g., oil, tires, brakes) and report any mechanical issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and tidy, inside and out.
Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, and other required documentation (e.g., fuel receipts, trip logs).
- Adhere to delivery or pick-up schedules, ensuring on-time performance.
- Report any incidents, accidents, or damage promptly
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure the safety of the driver, passengers, and cargo.
- Adhere to company policies regarding vehicle use, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Report any safety hazards or violations to management immediately.
Ministry facilitation:
- Serve as a liaison between the ministry leadership and church leaders, maintaining clear and professional communication.
- Assist with the coordination and organization of church-related activities, events, and outreach programs.
- Facilitate the collection of activity reports from church leaders and provide summaries to the ministry office for review.
- Collect, organize, and deliver church activity reports, event summaries, and other related documents in a timely manner.
- Ensure all paperwork is accurately completed and submitted as per ministry guidelines.
- Provide regular updates to the supervisor regarding meetings, church activities, and any concerns raised by church leaders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with church leaders and ministry team members.
- Foster open channels of communication to ensure that church needs and activities are effectively supported.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent and/or completion of A level required. A background in ministry, community outreach, or related field is a plus.
- At least 5 years’ experience in a driving or transportation role, with a clean driving record. Experience working in church or ministry environments is desirable.
- Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Drivers class A. Class CM is preferred.

- Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Stamina and physical fitness for prolonged periods of standing, bending, and kneeling.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with church leaders and staff professionally.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail for managing reports, documents, and schedules.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Work environment:
This position requires traveling to various places and locations throughout Uganda.
Regular interaction with church leaders, ministry teams, and volunteers.
Physical activity including driving, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
