Job Summary: The Digital Marketing Specialist will lead the Uganda National Lottery’s E-commerce and digital marketing efforts, focusing on increasing brand visibility, engaging audiences across digital platforms, and driving online sales of lottery games.
The job holder will manage administrative tasks, provide project support, and oversee all digital activities.
He/she will support the growth strategy of the business by enhancing its digital marketing programs to increase conversion ratios and optimize digital presence across all online platforms.
They will also be responsible for overseeing the online sales and digital presence of the Uganda National Lottery website ensuring smooth operation and growth of its e-commerce platform. They develop and implement strategies to increase sales, enhance the user experience, optimize website performance, and meet customer needs.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute digital strategies that maximize traffic, conversions, and revenue on the National Lottery’s e-commerce platforms, including the lottery’s website and mobi web app.
- Responsible for supporting digital marketing programs, including channel support tactics, and digital marketing initiatives.
- Manage marketing campaigns across digital platforms, including media buying, analytics, spend optimization, and content development.
- Coordinate and execute digital marketing projects to ensure scalability and strategic effectiveness, analyze performance data and market trends to identify areas of improvement and optimize campaigns to maximize impact.
- Support other departments in the execution of marketing campaigns related to digital platforms
- Collaborating closely with other members of the marketing department to ensure alignment in the overall marketing strategy, messaging, and campaign execution.
- Develop and execute email/SMS/WhatsApp/partner marketing campaigns, including list management, segmentation, A/B testing, and performance analysis.
- Plan, execute, and optimize media buying strategies across various digital platforms to ensure cost-effective ad spend and maximum ROI.
- Conduct market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
- Collaborate with the product and development teams to continuously optimize the National Lottery’s website and mobile app for e-commerce performance. Focus on enhancing user experience, simplifying navigation, and increasing conversion rates.
- Manage digital marketing budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and tracking of expenditures
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communication or similar related fields.
- Marketing qualification preferred
- Excellence with Excel and Digital marketing Analytics tools
- Google analytics
Knowledge
- Good knowledge of digital marketing, social media networks, online advertising platforms, SEM and SEO techniques, Data analytics, Content management and E-Commerce.
- Understanding of brand positioning and how to create marketing strategies that align with the brand’s identity and mission.
- Knowledge of user experience (UX) and customer journey mapping to enhance the online experience and improve conversion rates.
Skills
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels, including SEO, PPC, email marketing, social media, and content marketing.
- Understanding of content marketing and how to craft messages that resonate with different target audiences while maintaining compliance with gambling regulations.
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to manage and manipulate large data sets.
- Ability to integrate disparate data sets into cohesive reports with clear data visualization.
- Strong analytical and ICT skills to draw insights from data and communicate findings clearly
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Outstanding communication (verbal and written), interpersonal, and multi-tasking skills
- Attention to detail.
- E-Commerce expertise – proven experience in managing e-commerce platforms and increasing sales through digital marketing strategies
Experience
- Digital marketing experience, preferably within an online business
- 3-5 years of equivalent work experience required
- 3-4 years’ experience managing third-party service providers or business partners
- Gaming/betting house experience is desirable
