Job Summary: The Corporate Communications Manager will lead the development and execution of strategic communication plans that enhance the Bank’s image, strengthen brand equity, and ensure effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
This role is pivotal in shaping the Bank’s narrative and ensuring alignment with the overall business strategy and culture
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strategic Communication Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that support the Bank’s goals and objectives, ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms and touchpoints.
- Reputation Management: Proactively manage the Bank’s reputation by developing crisis communication plans, managing media relations, and overseeing the dissemination of information to stakeholders during crises.
- Media Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, industry associations, and key influencers to enhance the Bank’s visibility and reputation in the market.
- Internal Communications: Lead internal communication initiatives to drive employee engagement, culture development, and alignment with the Bank’s mission and values.
- Content Strategy: Oversee the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including press releases, speeches, website updates, social media, and marketing materials, ensuring messages are aligned with the Bank’s strategic priorities.
- Digital Communications: Drive the Bank’s digital presence by developing strategies for digital media, including social media, Search Engine Optimisation /Search Engine Marketing (SEO/SEM), and content marketing, to enhance brand awareness and customer engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute engagement strategies with key stakeholders, including government bodies, regulators, industry associations, and the community, to foster strong, supportive relationships.
- Corporate Social Investment (CSI): Lead the Bank’s CSI initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s values and strategic objectives while enhancing community impact and brand image.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies and campaigns, providing regular reports and insights to senior management to inform decision-making.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the Communications team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Marketing and Communications from time to time.
Financial Responsibility
- Responsible for the tracking of the PR and ESG Budget lines
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A master’s degree or professional certifications in Communications or related fields is an added advantage.
Skills & Experience:
- At least 7 years’ experience in marketing with a bias to PR, Communication and Media Management.
- Must have good creative, verbal and written communication skills
- Organizational and administrative skills are critical for the role
- Ability to translate strategy into achievable performance objectives
- Good knowledge of modern practices in communications and digital marketing.
- Knowledge of Adobe PhotoShop, InDesign, and Illustrator is an added advantage.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.

- Clear understanding of Sustainability and impact reporting
- Ability to conceptualize issues
